    Dear Brother Howard,

Please accept my sincerest sympathy, prayers for comfort, and heartfelt love to you and your entire family during this difficult transition and time of loss.

In the short time that I have known you, Howard, your reverence for your mother and the tremendous love you have for her was instantly felt. The bond and respect you shared with her spoke volumes about the woman she was and the impact she had on your life.

As a servant of the Lord, she instilled in you the duty of service, a legacy you should wear proudly, just as I am certain she was immensely proud of you. May the love, lessons, and example she gave you continue to live through you.

May God comfort your heart, strengthen you and your family, and surround you with peace and love during this time. May her life, her service, and the love she poured into her family always remain a source of strength and blessing.

    Al-Bayyinah (The Evidence) — Verses 7–8:

“And lo! those who believe and do good works are the best of created beings. Their reward is with their Lord: Gardens of Eden underneath which rivers flow, wherein they dwell forever. God hath pleasure in them and they have pleasure in Him. This is in store for him who feareth his Lord.”

    Al-Zumar (The Throngs) — Verse 20:

“But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are lofty halls with lofty halls above them, built for them, beneath which rivers flow. It is a promise of God. God faileth not His promise.”

May God grant your mother, Bertha L. Henry Hartford, eternal peace, and may He grant you and your family patience, comfort, strength, and peace during this sacred time of remembrance.

With deepest sympathy, love, and prayers,

Your Sister in Faith, Cecilia Ruff

    Dear Hartford Family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs\. Bertha Hartford\. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your entire family during this difficult time.

I will always remember meeting Mrs. Hartford during the Obama Administration, when she and her family came to tour the West Wing of the White House. I especially remember the joy and excitement on her face as she stood in the Oval Office—the historic office of the first African American President of the United States. It was such a beautiful and memorable moment, and I feel blessed to have been able to share that experience with her.

Mrs. Hartford’s excitement, warmth, and appreciation for that moment left an impression on me. I hope that, in the midst of your grief, you will find comfort in knowing that her life touched others and that beautiful memories of her will continue to live on.

May God surround your family with His love, give you strength in the days ahead, and bring peace to your hearts as you celebrate Mrs. Hartford’s life and legacy.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” – Matthew 5:4

With deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers, and a special heartfelt condolences to Rooster!

    Katherine
